Lambert's Point Investment Company
(For more Norfolk geography tidbits, click here.)
The subdivision plat of the Lamberts Point Investment Co. (Feb. 1892, Norfolk County Map Book 2, p.98) -- Granville Gaines, president -- shows that it bordered on Lamberts Point Waterfront Co. property, 43rd St., Avenue J. [later Colley Ave.], 28th St., Avenue H [Myers Ave./Hampton Blvd.]; included 33rd to 42nd streets [38th through 41st streets now being 42nd through 45th streets, respectively], and Avenue I [Killam Ave.]; and was near Bowden Ferry Rd., Zions Church Circle (might have been proposed, not actual), and a proposed passenger depot alongside (real) N&W RR. Also shows a “proposed branch RR” running along the border; this became the N&W feeder track (see description of the revised 1898 plat).
